artist, performer or arts group trying to get a project off the
ground? Need funding?
On Friday January 16 at the Dahl Arts Center, the South Dakota Arts Council will present Money For Artists & Arts Organizations: An Introduction to Available Grants. This is a set of two different free, informative workshops to help artists, performers, and arts groups find out about current available grants for which they can apply. South Dakota Arts Council Assistant Director Michael Pangburn will present information & answer questions. Whether you are a musician, painter, sculptor, writer, photographer, dancer, actor or other type of artist or performer…or part of an arts group or organization...there is money available to help you purchase materials, fund projects and series of events, and much more! Get an introduction to current available grants so you can start working on applying for them. These workshops pertain to grants which are due March 1, 2009. A Workshop for Individual Artists/Performers will be held on Friday January 16, 2009 from 11:20am-12:20pm at the Dahl Arts Center. Attendees can learn about two different grants available for individual artists and performers: $3000 Grant for Artists / Performers: Funds available to set aside time to pursue their work, to purchase materials and equipment, to produce new work, aid in the marketing or promotion of a specific project, or reach new audiences for existing work. $6000 Grant for Artist / Performer Collaboration: Funds available to support two South Dakotan artists or one South Dakotan artist and one out-of-state artist to expand horizons and artistic base. A Workshop for Arts Groups will be held on Friday January 16, 2009 from 12:30pm-1:30pm at the Dahl Arts Center. Attendees can learn about two different grants available for arts groups: Project Grant: Funds available to assist non-profit organizations present an arts activity for the general public which meets specific needs of the organization. Small Organization Season Support Grant: Funds available to assist small non-profit arts organizations present a season of activities that meet the needs of the organization.
