Pollutants released ten times greater than Chernobyl…water rendered undrinkable that kills plant & animal life...These are just two instances of the violation of reservation lands.

Native American contemporary art in the Impacted Nations exhibit currently at the Dahl Arts Center is powerful commentary about environmental issues on Native lands.

This panel discussion will explore how modern Native art has become a tool for change. It will showcase how art & artists can change the world through awareness. The goal of the panel discussion is "to bring awareness of modern native art & awareness to its contemporary messages."

We invite the traditional art community, policy makers, corporations & the general public to join us for this provocative & informative event.

Confirmed speakers are Dwayne Wilcox (artist), Don Montileaux (artist), Neal Ambrose-Smith (artist), and Robert Cook (Cultural Affairs Specialist of Crazy Horse Memorial).

Art in the Twenty-First Century, or Art21 is a groundbreaking documentary television series focusing exclusively on contemporary visual art by artists working in the United States today. The series provides behind-the-scenes views of the artists in their studios, homes, and communities. The artists speak directly to the audience, in their own words, about how, why and what they create. The Dahl will host a large screen viewing of Episode 1 - Romance and Episode 2 - Protest with an open forum discussion and wine bar in the theater.

The Dahl is participating in the Art21 Access '07 program, a series of film screenings and contemporary art events presented in partnership with Americans for the Arts during National Arts and Humanities Month. Join over 200 museums, schools, libraries, art spaces and community organizations—in all 50 US states—in celebrating contemporary art and creativity.
